Ortigia is a real gem - we found it almost by default when we stayed in an awful hotel 10 kilometres away and then moved to the centre - we found real hidden treasure!  A “city” with a cathedral square which can compete with many a more famous Italian cathedral square, a spectacular history which jumps out and hits you in the face at every corner you turn, architecture and culture seeping from every building PLUS wonderful Sicilian food and wine - so many choices of good and reasonable restaurants you will never tire! - brilliant weather and seasons to choose from, sparkling seas around the island and views to cherish.  “Venice without the canals” - might sound fanciable but come and see what we mean.

So why not come and really get under the skin of the place.  Rent our Studio, shop in the local market, (said to be second only to Palermo’s famous markets) and live like a local.  And when you have had enough of Ortigia (you won’t - the magic is in the everyday things!), it’s a great base to visit other Sicilian Baroque wonders - Notto, Ragusa, Modica etc. etc.

Our Studio is right on the sea - swim from the rocks - or if you come in summer swim from the delightfully old fashioned Solarium constructed every year.
